Mediation and Family Violence in Family Law
Jennifer Davis
Jennifer Davis is a lawyer, mediator and conflict resolution specialist in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She started her career in public-sector labour relations where she learned the value of collaborative approaches to problem-solving and negotiations. Over the years, she has honed her dispute resolution skills as a negotiator, a conciliation officer, a mediator and as a lawyer practicing family law.
Jennifer recently took on a new opportunity as Director of Negotiations for First Nations' affairs, representing the Province at provincial/federal/territorial tables where she hopes to contribute to the ongoing work of Truth and Reconciliation by engaging all stakeholders in collaborative dispute resolution.
Jennifer is an advocate for mediation in the family law context, even in the face of intimate partner violence. She believes that those who summarily dismiss the idea of mediation don't truly understand the principles, process and potential of mediation.
